Background

Construction of a new underground car park to a historic building.

Formally known as The Royal Masonic School for Boys, Royal Connaught Park is a remarkable architectural and landscaping achievement with an imaginative and luxurious mix of skilfully converted and newly built apartments, set in 100 acres of private parkland. No two dwellings at Royal Connaught Park are alike, from one bedroom duplex flats with private roof terraces, to four bedroom luxury apartments; each new home has been individually designed with unstinting attention to craftsmanship. Only premium grade materials have been selected, to complement the supreme quality of the original buildings.

The Solution

IKO Permatec Inverted Roof System.

Manufactured at our IKO HMMA Grangemill site in Matlock, Derbyshire, IKO Permatec systems can be delivered in blocks with minimal packaging. They offer excellent sustainability credentials for carbon footprint and site waste. These systems are covered with ballast, paving, or green roof finishes.

Although not UV stable with a standard protection sheet (IKO Permaguard-F), the systems can be made UV stable with the introduction of a mineral surfaced capsheet (IKO Permaguard-M).

The Benefits

Popular for new build projects, they are fully bonded and easy to install systems. Water cannot track and it is easily detected and repaired, which provides a great advantage to building occupiers.
